As part of Sydney Design 07, Pecha Kucha takes place outdoors in Circular Quay on the forecourt of Customs House.
From a single event in Tokyo, organised by Klein Dytham Architects, Pecha Kucha (Japanese for the sound of conversation) has grown into a global, slide night network for creative people happening regularly in cities around the world, including London, Bogata, Mumbai, Mexico City, Beijing and New York. Its patented format — 20 presenters each have 20 slides and 20 seconds for each slide — ensures snappy presentations showcasing fresh work and ideas across all creative disciplines.
Speakers on Friday include:
Peter Poulet, architect/artist
Huseyin Sami, artist
Oliver Kratzer, industrial designer
Adam Haddow, sustainable city troubadour
James gardiner, prefabrication
Naomi and Leanne Shedlezki, performance/installation artists
Frag Woodhall, furniture designer
Korban Flaubert, designers
Josh Usher, engineers without borders
