A solo exhibition of works by Andrew Lavery
Andrew Lavery is an accomplished glass artist with a national and international profile. In addition to teaching in the glass studio at Sydney College of the Arts, Lavery was a recent finalist in the 2007 City of Hobart art prize and exhibited in the group show New Glass from Australia at New York’s Chappell Gallery.

Various awards and scholarships have contributed to Lavery's broad knowledge of both traditional and contemporary approaches to object making. In 2002 he was awarded a scholarship from the Pilchuck Glass School, Washington, USA to study advanced Venetian techniques with Andrea Zilio. In 2003 he received an Australia Council for the Arts Skills and Development Grant, which took him to the Venetian Island of Murano to study solid-working techniques. In 2007 Lavery won a New Work Grant from the Australian Council for the Arts. In 2008 he will travel to the Corning Museum of Glass, New York, to research and develop new work for a solo exhibition in 2009.
