Project Cockatoo Island
Graphic design students and practitioners from around New South Wales (NSW) unleashed their creativity on one of Sydney Harbour's most spectacular landmarks this year.
AGDA NSW and the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust (Harbour Trust) collaborated in a major student design project in July this year. Project Cockatoo Island engaged tertiary students and industry practitioners in a design process that resulted in the creation of a digital exhibition demonstrating a range of creative interpretations of a specific design brief.

The project’s outcomes were not intended to establish a formal, permanent identity for the island, but rather to create an exhibition that demonstrated the broad and varied interpretations of how a visual identity might be applied to this important Sydney Harbour landmark.

The digital exhibition included the work of all participating students and was presented to the public at d factory on 10 August, at the Powerhouse Museum, during Sydney Design 06.
