20 Aug 2008
7 Apr 2007 to 5 May 2007
Coast-garde 07 at Metalab showcases the work of five contemporary stone-carvers from New Zealand.
Jamie Fergus, Karyn Roberts, Andy Ruskin, Jason Tweedie and James Washer were drawn to Greymouth on the rugged west coast of New Zealand’s South Island through a shared passion for carving jade.
In 2005 and 2006, these five contemporary stone carvers held successful group exhibitions at Form Gallery in Christchurch, New Zealand. Coast-garde 07 is their first show outside New Zealand. This dynamic exhibition includes an exquisite collection of carved work exploring the use of different materials from New Zealand, Australia and around the world.
From 7 - 12 April, Jamie Fergus will present an open workshop on jade carving and floor talks on his professional work practice. Contact Metalab for further information and bookings.
