Khai Liew and Vicki Mason at JamFactory
9 Jun 2007 to 22 Jul 2007
See new works by furniture designer Khai Liew and jeweller Vicki Mason at JamFactory Contemporary Craft and Design.
Gallery 1: Tiersmen to Linenfold by Khai Liew
A master of exquisitely crafted contemporary furniture, Liew is passionate about materials and the handmade. Drawing on his own cultural heritage and inspired by classic Danish design and the rugged practicality of utilitarian objects made by early Australian settlers, Liew occupies a unique place in contemporary Australian furniture design.

Gallery 2: Offshoot by Vicki Mason
Mason constructs a garden-like wonderland from plastic and metal jewellery. Her floral brooches reference forms found in indigenous flora, coupled with traditional ironstone pottery motifs. Hybrid forms and stylised representation combine to transform the mundane prose of everyday things into surreal and suggestive 'poetic objects'.
