Dye Hard a Tea Towel: fabric ink stamping and crayon rubbing
Using a bumper selection of cool fabric pens, stamp designs and rubbing plates you can create a knock-out funky tea towel to go with your white goods.
In this session you can also up-cycle one of your tired fashion favourites. Just bring them with you on the day. All materials and fabrics supplied. Beginners welcome.

Dye-linquent Shibori workshop: Dyeing and up-cycling garments
Karen Davis and Pepa Martin are the driving-force behind Shibori. They have worked alongside some of Australia’s best known architects and interior designers on projects using their Shibori dyed textiles and are the creators of the Dye Da Vida range of boutique fabric dyes.
In the workshop they will take you through the paces of Shibori dyeing. Learn the slow art of creating beautiful textiles through folding, twining, and much more. Karen and Pepa will demonstrate how to prepare the synthetic indigo dye vat and textiles using 4 techniques. Bring your own natural fibre garments such as cotton, linen, hemp or silk on the day. Old clothes should be worn as you will be using indigo dyes. All materials/equipment supplied including a length of voile (large scarf size). Beginners welcome

Dye-ception screen printing workshop: Up-cycle your garments
Presented by Donna Sgro, proponent of the slow fashion movement and lecturer at the University of Technology, Sydney. Her work has been showcased at Japan Fashion Week, 2009 and recently participated in Trash Fashion exhibition at the London Science Museum.
Donna will use her quirky trompe l’oeil screen patterns to show you how to up-cycle your garments. Learn the basics of silk-screen printing using prepared photo-stencil designs and learn how to apply silver foil to garments.
Bring garments to up-cycle i.e. jeans, shirts, t-shirts, dresses. Old clothes should be worn as you will be using water-based inks. All materials and equipment is supplied. Silk-screens have been specially prepared by the company Screenhaus. Beginners welcome
