Surgical support, womens corset, nylon/elastic/metal, S H Camp & Co, United Kingdom, c.1955.
Corset made of self patterned pale apricot coloured nylon fabric with repeat diamond design. Elastic panels along front hem and waist. Boned front and back. Centre back lacing through metal eyelets and adjustable via two metal grip buckles and webbing straps on each side. Left front opening fastens with nine metal hooks and eyes. Four adjustable suspenders around hem.

History notes

The manufacture and distribution of surgical garments were significant facets of the Berlei company's business. The corset was part of Berlei's reference collection.
