Galoshes, pair, womens, rubber/cotton, Dunlop Pty Ltd, Australia, 1945-1960.

Pair of galoshes made of moulded black rubber. They have a slighly rounded toe and short hollow heels. There is a decorative 'scalloped' design around the top of each shoe and ribbing over the toes and heels. The soles have a rough cross hatch grid for grip. The galoshes are backed with black cotton jersey.

These galoshes were made by Dunlop Pty Ltd in Australia.

These galoshes were made c.1945.
History notes
These galoshes were used by Wilma Townsend the donor. The heels are hollow so they can worn over a pair of short heeled court shoes and protect them from the rain.
Marks
Impressed on soles 'MADE IN/DUNLOP/AUSTRALIA'. Inscribed on inner sole of proper left shoe '5'.
