Description

Vases (pair), bronze, maker unknown, Japan, date unknown.

A pair of bronze vases, with a repousse decoration featuring peacocks standing amongst foliage. The body of each vase tapers towards a circular foot. Each vase has a cylindrical elongated neck at the top. The shoulder and foot of each vase feature a repeated decorative inlaid design and the neck of each vase feature decorative inlaid medallions.
