Button and clip, brass, 68th Regiment of Foot, British Army, Firmin & Sons, London, England, found Wentworth Park, New South Wales, Australia. Button (/1), with flat back inscribed on the obverse with the insignia of 68th regiment '68' between a crown and horn and the manufacturer's name on the reverse. Metal clip (/2), attached to loop soldered to back of button. Ex L. Barton collection.
History notes
68th Regiment of Foot, not stationed in Australia, performed escort duty on convict ships. Stationed in New Zealand 1864-1866. Object found in Wentworth Park. ex L. Barton collection
